Purea Core, inside every Suhae head

Purea Core catches the sediment before it reaches the spray.

Ceramic media and a fine micro-fabric layer catch sediment, debris and rust from the pipes, so the plate gets filtered water.

See the two stages

Ceramic media tested for resistance to bacterial growth over 24 hours. Certificate KFIA-110.

Two stages

What happens before the water reaches the plate

Cutaway of a Suhae handshower showing the ceramic bead chamber, with water running from the plate.

Stage one: ceramic beads

The water runs through ceramic bead media, tested for resistance to bacterial growth in warm, wet conditions.

A micro-fabric filter disc holding brown sediment, with water passing through it.

Stage two: micro-fabric

A woven layer catches sediment, fine debris and rust from household plumbing. You can see what it has trapped on the fabric when you open the head.

Then the plate

Filtered water goes through the Aera Flow plate for an even spray. Radiance and Nourish measured a mean 5.0 litres a minute with both stages in place.

Media testing: Korea Far Infrared Association, method KFIA-FI-1002, certificate KFIA-110, January 2023. Flow testing: Singapore Laboratory Services, report 22608188-CLC, 19 March 2026, tested under AS/NZS 3662:2013.

The media test

The ceramic ball filter was tested using method KFIA-FI-1002. The test recorded a 99.9% reduction in two test organisms after 24 hours of static contact.

The filter media is tested to resist bacteria growing inside the cartridge.

The flow test

Radiance and Nourish recorded a mean flow rate of 5.0 litres per minute across pressures from 1.5 to 5.0 bar. Testing used complete showerheads with both filtration stages installed under clause 5.1 and appendix B of AS/NZS 3662:2013.

Singapore Laboratory Services is SAC-SINGLAS accredited. The report covers SUH-RAD-CHR, SUH-RAD-BLK and SUH-NOR-CHR. Aura includes Purea Core, but the published independent flow result does not cover Aura.

Built for everyday flow

Fine filtration that keeps the shower moving.

Purea Core pairs fine filtration with a water path built to keep the flow steady.

The flow figure was measured on finished Radiance and Nourish heads with both stages fitted, the way you will use them.

What Purea Core catches, and how to look after it.

Is New Zealand water hard enough to matter?

Purea Core captures sediment, rust and fine debris carried through household plumbing.

Hardness comes from dissolved calcium and magnesium, and most New Zealand town water is soft. Your supplier publishes the figure for your area, and the NZ Water Guide has it for the main cities.

How do I clean it?

Suhae heads come apart by hand, so you can rinse the inside without tools.

The separate Vita Refill cartridge is replaced every two to three months, depending on household use. A replacement cartridge costs NZ$29.90.

Purea Core questions

Asked and answered.

What does Purea Core catch?

Sediment, fine debris, rust and grit from household plumbing. The ceramic media keeps the inside of the filter clean, and the micro-fabric holds the particles you can see.

Chlorine is the job of the Vitae Infusion vitamin C stage, and in New Zealand that means free chlorine.

What does the ceramic media test mean?

The ceramic media was tested for resistance to bacterial growth. Testing recorded a 99.9% reduction in two organisms after 24 hours of static contact.

So the media resists bacteria growing inside it, and the cartridge stays clean.

Does it slow the shower down?

Radiance and Nourish measured a mean 5.0 litres a minute with the full filtration in place, in independent testing.

That figure is for the finished head, not an empty one. See how the Aera Flow plate works.

Which Suhae products have Purea Core?

Purea Core is built into SUHAE Radiance, Nourish and Aura. SUHAE Universal uses its own smaller micro-fabric filter behind your existing showerhead.

How is it different from the vitamin C stage?

Purea Core catches particles. Vitae Infusion takes out the chlorine.

In a head with both, each stage does its own part of the job.
