AERA FLOW, FOR NEW ZEALAND SHOWERS

A fuller spray from a plate with holes a tenth the usual size.

Fine triangular openings spread the water across the whole plate, so a New Zealand shower feels full while using less water each minute.

Tested to AS/NZS 3662:2013, the Australian and New Zealand Standard: Radiance and Nourish ran at a mean 5.0 litres a minute (Singapore Laboratory Services).

Inside the plate

What the triangular openings do to your water

Triangles, not round holes.

Each opening is triangular, which spreads the water wider across the plate and gives a broader spray.

Openings about 0.3 mm across.

At roughly 0.3 mm, each opening sends out a fine, focused stream across the spray area.

Twist the head apart and rinse the plate under the tap. No tools, and it takes a minute.

By the numbers

The Aera plate, measured

Each opening 0.3 mm, about a tenth of a conventional spray hole.
Pressure Up to 50% more than a conventional plate, in the manufacturer's own testing.
Flow 5.0 L/min on Radiance and Nourish: the top efficiency band, and 30 to 50% below a standard head.
Where it is made Korea.
Which heads have it Radiance, Nourish and Aura. Universal has no plate, because it sits behind your own head.

Flow tested to AS/NZS 3662:2013, the standard New Zealand and Australia share, by Singapore Laboratory Services. Report 22608188-CLC, 19 March 2026.

How the flow test was run

The 5.0 litres a minute is the average across 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5 and 5.0 bar, under clause 5.1 and appendix B of the standard. The lab is SAC-SINGLAS accredited, and the result sits in the top band of 5 litres a minute or less.

The report names SUH-RAD-CHR, SUH-RAD-BLK and SUH-NOR-CHR. Aura's flow figure is the manufacturer's own.

Where the pressure figure comes from

The pressure comparison is the manufacturer's testing. The SLS report measures flow rate.

The KEWI chlorine and KIFA media certificates cover the filter inside the head; the plate has its own figures above.

Under the shower

Wide coverage, with a focused feel

The triangular openings spread water across the full face of the plate.

You get a full spray pattern that feels satisfying without one hard, concentrated jet.

The water lands evenly, edge to edge.

The filter behind the plate

The plate shapes the spray. The filter takes the chlorine out of New Zealand town water.

Chlorine, measured

Residual chlorine was not detected at any test interval from 1,000 to 6,000 litres under the published conditions. Free chlorine, the kind New Zealand suppliers use.

Certificate IW-230133 has the method, the sample and the full volume range.

The filter media

The test recorded a 99.9% reduction in E. coli and S. aureus on the ceramic media after 24 hours of static contact.

The filter media is tested to resist bacteria growing inside the cartridge.

Chlorine: Korea Environment and Water Works Institute, certificate IW-230133, 24 April 2023. Media hygiene: Korea Far Infrared Association, certificate KFIA-110, January 2023. Both certificates cover the filter.

Questions from New Zealand

Aera Flow, asked and answered

Is Aera Flow in the Suhae Universal?

No. Universal sits between your plumbing and the head you already own, so it filters the water and your own head shapes the spray. It has no plate of its own, so the pressure and flow figures on this page are for the heads that do.

Aera Flow is built into Suhae's own heads. The Radiance is where most people start.

Will it fit a New Zealand shower?

Radiance and Nourish screw onto the standard ½-inch hose thread used across New Zealand, by hand. Send a photo on WhatsApp if your setup is unusual.

Will openings that small block up?

Any shower head can collect scale. Most New Zealand town water is soft, and the head opens by hand when the plate needs a rinse.

Does it work on Christchurch or Wellington water?

Yes. Both cities chlorinate with free chlorine, which is what the filter behind the plate was tested on. The flow figure above covers Radiance and Nourish; Aura's is the manufacturer's own.
